In case you’ve spent the last three months or so buried the bottom of a pint glass, we’re here to inform you that the Great American Beer Festival hits Colorado this weekend and DRAFTMag.com will be all over the event like hops in Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA. (Um, what?)

Our own Beer Runner Tim Cigelske will be crisscrossing the premises, covering the coming and goings in a way that only a man who prides himself on running can. At the DRAFT booth — make sure you don’t miss the DRAFT booth. Seriously. — we’ll have a series of beer gods and celebrities passing through (Norm from Cheers!) to hang out, drink some beer, and be interviewed by our esteemed staff. So stop by, say hi, and check out the magazine. If you can’t make it to Colorado, we’ll be posting blurbs, features, and videos all weekend, so check back frequently.

If some is good, more is better. At least that seems to be the philosophy of the beer community in Denver, Colorado. The Rocky Mountain town will have two beer weeks in the near future, as the Denver Beer Fest (this fall) and Denver Beer Week (spring 2010) both take place.

“This is going to create buzz and get people talking about beer and craft beer,” Rich Grant, communications director for the Visit Denver convention and tourism agency, said of the first event that’s timed to coincide with the Great American Beer Festival. “And I think it will create a lot of national press.”
