Two beer weeks for Denver

Posted by Noah Davis On July - 20 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

If some is good, more is better. At least that seems to be the philosophy of the beer community in Denver, Colorado. The Rocky Mountain town will have two beer weeks in the near future, as the Denver Beer Fest (this fall) and Denver Beer Week (spring 2010) both take place.

“This is going to create buzz and get people talking about beer and craft beer,” Rich Grant, communications director for the Visit Denver convention and tourism agency, said of the first event that’s timed to coincide with the Great American Beer Festival. “And I think it will create a lot of national press.”

Guilty as charged.

Washington D.C. Beer Week?

Perhaps.

The Wasington Post calls it “unofficial,” but from May 26 through June 1, the nation’s capital will host a, um, host of beer-related events.

Savor, the craft beer and food fest held at National Building Museum which sold out two months ago, headlines the slate, but beer people from Steve Grossman and Greg Koch to Carol Stoudt and Adam Avery will hold their own events and offer up their beers.

Tickets and more information here. Let’s get the word out, people.
