Shipyard goes Independent

• May 26th, 2010 • Category: Beer News, featured

Awhile back, there was a little thing called the Revolutionary War after which the United States earned her independence. Britain wasn’t too happy. Roughly 225 years later, Alan Puglsey plans to smooth over some ruffled wigs.

Shipyard Brewing Co.’s master brewer will head to England on June 15th to brew 300 barrels of Independence Pale Ale. Then, on July 4th, 500 Marston’s pubs around his home country will simultaneously tap a cask. Brewers will also create some IPA on American shores, which will be served at Federal Jack’s Restaurant and Brew Pub in Kennebunk, Maine. Merriment will ensue in both countries. International relationships will be repaired, and so on and so forth.
