Bike Bar tears up the Portland streets

Transporting kegs presents a difficult task, probably because they are so freakin’ heavy. But Portland Oregon’s Phillip Ross has an interesting solution to the age-old problem: a Bike Bar.
Ross and Jamie Nichols, his partner at the Portland custom bike shop Metrofiets, built the Bike Bar for Christian Ettinger’s Hopworks Urban Brewery. The nine-and-a-half foot contraption (”longer than a Smart Car,” Ross pointed out.) boasts space to carry two kegs, which attached to fully operable taps. It’s a collaboration of a number of Portland-based artists including woodworker Gregg Heppner (who built the bar), Mike Moscarelli, (draft system), and Damon Eckhoff (sound system).
Beer on Wheels, anyone?
