North Korea fast food joint joins the beerevolution

By Noah Davis • Aug 6th, 2009 • Category: Beer News

Back in June, we posted a story about North Korea’s first beer commercial. Today, the communist country is back in the beer-related news because it opened a fast food joint that serves brews.

One British citizen who visited the joint had positive things to say.

“I think it is very clean and I think every effort has been made to present the food very well,” George Bottomley told APTN.

Of course, it ain’t cheap. Hamburgers cost $1.70, around half of what the average North Korean citizen makes in a day. There’s no word on how much it will cost you to get a drink, but we can’t imagine it’s cheap.

But still, beer! At a fast food joint! Maybe that’s why Bill Clinton ventured over there?
