Cheap beer at Churchill Downs

The beer ban at the Preakness didn’t go so well, but officials at Churchill Downs — site of the Kentucky Derby — are making sure the masses have their booze.
After last week’s debut night of the “Downs After Dark” series drew 28,011 spectators — many of whom had to wait in long beer lines — Churchill Downs Inc., the organization that runs the grounds, will make up for the situation by offering $1 beer from 4 to 8 p.m. and $2 beer from 8 p.m. to midnight this Friday.
“No one should ever have to wait in line for an extended period of time to purchase a drink,” Bill Carstanjen, chief operating officer for Churchill Downs Inc., said in a press release. “Believe me, we feel awful. It was unacceptable to our customers, and it is unacceptable to us.”
Someone tell the Preakness people.
