Miller truck loses beer load

By Noah Davis • Jun 16th, 2009 • Category: Beer News

It’s been awhile since a beer truck tipped over and spilled its cargo, but early this morning it happened again. A truck carrying 40,000 pounds of beer (seriously, who measures beer in pounds?) flipped while traveling on Illinois’ Tri-State Tollway. Luckily, no one was seriously injured, and traffic patterns returned to normal quickly. It wasn’t, however, an occasion for passersby to pick up some free booze.

“I would advise nobody to go out there and get themselves a six-pack,” Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Robert Fierstein said. “There are plenty of cops on the scene.”

So party at Police HQ?

(And look, it happened twice. That’s amazing, actually.)
