Odell Brewery goes “green”

• Jun 12th, 2009 • Category: Beer Companies

Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins, Colo. is literally breaking ground. On Tuesday, it officially embarked on an expansion plan to make room for its growing brewing operation and expects to finish in early 2010.

The project will extend the brewery’s manufacturing, office and taproom facilities, as well as improve the brewery’s landscape. “While we are expanding capacity, we are really viewing this as an investment in innovation in both style and process,” brewery owner Wynne Odell says.

Odell is taking an environmentally friendly approach to the project by installing solar panels on the roof, porous pavement to minimize rain runoff, and a system that detects when enough natural light is available so the brewery won’t waste electricity.

On top of that, if Odell is producing more beer, we can recycle more glass bottles, right? And if that means more beer for us, we’re all for it.

  1. A restaurant owner told me that Odell brewing is really an Anheuser-Busch product, does anyone know?

  2. Tom,

You could not be more wrong. Odell’s is a family owned craft brewery. Maybe you’re thinking of Odouls.. Very different! Try Odell’s beer and you’ll realize all the love and hard work it takes to hand craft our beer.
