Miller Lite pulls offensive ads

The Internet is all atwitter (Best hed: Angry Italians Say Basta to Miller Lite Ad) with the news that Miller Lite pulled a series of TV ads after a group of Italian Americans complained that it perpetuated ethnic stereotypes.
“We seem to be the last breed in America that ad agencies think they can take a shot at,” Lou Rago, founder of the Italian American Human Relations Foundation of Chicago, said.
The spots, which star the Sopranos Frank Vincent, will be pulled by the end of the week. (For his part, Vincent didn’t have a problem with the ads. “I think both of these groups should have a better sense of humor,” he said, proving that calmer heads do exist.)
What do you think of the campaign?

fricken hilarious.. get a humor.. i mean maybe they could take out the ethnic music and make it more liquor store friendly? i don’t know. it’s not that bad.
Not particularly creative, but certainly not offensive. Liten up people.
I am Italian, and I say F*ck the Italian American Human Relations Foundation of Chicago. Bunch of pansy-asses. Have a sense of humor ya whiney bitc*es
Does the Italian mob still exist in America? Do the gentlemen in the ad sound like they are from Jersey or other environments nearby where the mob operates? Does Mr. Vincent seem to be acting as if he were still on the Sopranos in a lighter-hearted scene. Was the TV Show “The Sopranos” offensive to Mr. Rago of the Italian American Human Relations Foundation of Chicago or were all of those characters stereotypes?
It actually made me want to try out a 12er of the “gold tops” for the Laker game to support my gold and purple team!
I would have to say F@#$n Lighten up people, it’s a beer commercial. I guess the Ethical treatment of the remaining Cavemen in the world are upset with the Geico company as well for picking on those poor neanderthals!
Stupid people! There beer is not what I drink but I do like funny commercials!
