Finally, something good about the New Jersey turnpike

By Noah Davis • Apr 3rd, 2009 • Category: Beer News

If you’ve ever driven on the Eastern Seaboard, you know that the New Jersey turnpike is about the worst place in the world. Thanks to Flying Fish Brewery, however, we now have a positive association when we think about the country’s dreariest stretch of highway.

The New Jersery brewery just released Exit 4 American Trippel, the first in its Exit Series of big bottle beers. The beers seek to celebrate the Turnpike and brewers named the debut after the exit closest to Flying Fish.

“At Flying Fish, we’re proud to hail from the great state of New Jersey,” brewery founder Gene Muller said. “Our success comes from being focused on our home base, and this is a great opportunity for us to celebrate that in a very public way.”

So go pick yourself up a couple bottles. Just promise us you won’t drink them on the Turnpike, no matter how tempting that seems.

  1. during business hours, yes… the NJT sucks ass… but if you’ve ever driven from Philly to NYC at 1am, when there are 12 lanes of emptiness, it’s a pretty sublime experience.
