Drinking beer builds strong bones

• Mar 23rd, 2009 • Category: Beer News

In the supermarket the other day, we grabbed some calcium-fortified orange juice. Sure it tastes a bit worse and leaves a strange residue on your glass, but that’s a small price to pay for strong bones, right?

Dr. Katherine Tucker of Tufts University in Boston says that drinking a beer or two a night builds bone mineral density better than anything else. It’s “larger than what we see for any single nutrient, even for calcium,” she said. “It’s not ambiguous. It’s very clear.”
