Greg Black: America’s newest beer hero
By Noah Davis • Mar 4th, 2009 • Category: Beer News
Last November, we took you to the World Draught Master Championship. Last night, Greg Black ensured that he’ll be representing America in the 2009 edition.
The Las Vegas bartender, who’s been plying his trade since 1999, took first place in the Stella Artois Draught Master Competition held at Lavo Nightclub. In October, he’ll travel to Belgium to compete against 31 other winners from around the world.
“Cracking open a can or popping the cap off a bottle is easy, but preparing a beer following the strict standards of the Belgian Pouring Ritual takes a lot more care and attention to detail,” Black said. “At the Draught Master Competition you know every step of the pouring ritual will be highly scrutinized. To be named champion and able to represent the U.S. in Belgium is incredible.”
Steady hand, Mr. Black, steady hand.

Haha this is awesome. Good Luck!!!
That’s My Boy!!! Bartender Extraordinaire!!! You go Greg!!!
