This President’s Day weekend marks the state of Oregon’s sesquicentennial celebration and to honor the occasion, the Oregon Brewers Guild organized the first ever Zwickelmania.
What is Zwickelmania, you ask? Well, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. on February 14, dozens of breweries and brewpubs around the state with throw open their doors to the general public for tours and tastings. All of the proceedings are free but bring your close-toed shoes and your drinking hat.
There’s more information here.
(For those interested, the holiday “takes its name from the zwickel, or sample port which is mounted on the outside of the fermentation or conditioning tanks and allows brewers to take samples for quality assurance and control.”)
