The InBev/A-B behemoth officially arrives

Well that was fun. Earlier today, InBev completed its $52bn purchase of Anheuser-Busch, making the new company — Anheuser-Busch InBev — the largest brewer in the world. The resulting monster will have annual sales of $36.4bn or roughly 12 billion gallons of beer. Okay, that’s just awesome.

A-B Inbev will control almost half of the market in the United States (thanks to Budweiser) and much of Western European and Latin America. Its brands include Stella, Budweiser, Beck’s, Hoegaarden, Leffe, Brahma, Staropramen, Michelob, and Rolling Rock.
