Crown Imports LLC, importer and distributor of beers such as Corona Light and Tsingtao Lager, has announced the arrival of its newest on tap imports: Mexican beer favorites Negra Modelo and Modelo Especial. Previously, both beers were available in the United States only as canned or bottled imports. Negra Modelo, first introduced in 1925, is Mexico’s top-selling dark beer and the #1 imported dark beer in the United States. Modelo Especial is a golden pilsner-style beer that is often considered to be the finest beer brewed in Mexico.

Both brews will only be available on tap in the Phoenix and Houston markets, and they’ll make their stateside debut at a Pour Party at Aunt Chilada’s in Phoenix on Friday, June 27. The first pints of Negra Modelo and Modelo Especial to be poured on tap in the United States will be sold at a special price of $3.00, and guests will have the opportunity to win special branded glassware, hats, and more.
